Alba Vineyard Red Raspberry Wine 500ml
This is a wine that is truly unique. It is produced entirely from whole red raspberries, fermented on the skins for twenty days to maximize the fresh berry character. The wine is finished sweet, with a slight tart edge to provide a rich berry experience without a cloying, syrupy finish. As a result, it is one of the few wines that can marry well with chocolate desserts. It is delicious mixed with Champagne, as in a "Kir Royale," or simply served in a small glass as one would serve port or sherry.

Alba Vineyard Alba RosaOur Alba Rosa was the first "blush wine" to be produced in New Jersey back in 1984. We used the Marechal Foch grape (simply called Foch here) because when it is lightly pressed and fermented cool, it makes a wine with a delicious strawberry / raspberry character. Over twenty years later, we still make it the same way, except that we now blend the Foch with Cayuga White (a Pinot Blanc hybrid from Cornell University,) which contributes a delicious "peachy" flavor. Finished semi-dry, this wine is perfect just for sipping, or is great with a wide variety of foods if you prefer your wines "not-too-dry."
Alba Vineyard Mainsail WhiteOur winemaker's goal in creating Mainsail White was to make a wine that is suited to everyday consumption: easy to drink, light but flavorful, dry but with a soft finish. When asked how to describe it, we often say that it is like an aromatic Pinot Grigio. It is blended from three varieties, including Vidal Blanc, Cayuga White, and a little Riesling, to enhance the aroma. The wine is fermented cool, at around 55 or 58 degrees, which brings out the fruity flavors, and is then matured in stainless steel tanks so that it retains its fresh character. Around the winery, we call it the "Wednesday Night White" because it seems to go with just about any dish and fits the mid-week dinner budget.
Alba Vineyard Old Mill RedAfter many years of experimentation, our winemaker has developed just the right blend for our Old Mill Red that packs plenty of flavor but is soft and easy to drink, with meals or by itself. Composed mostly of Marechal Foch and Chambourcin, there are also small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, which are all fermented and aged separately until blending. The wine is then matured in small American oak barrels for 8 to 10 months and bottled soon after, to retain the rich fruit character. After much experimentation with several different sources of oak from several different producers, we have found that barrels made of American white oak from the Ozarks of Missouri, air-dried for 24 months, are the best suited to the flavor profiles of the reds produced at Alba.
